A Tale of Friendship and St. Valentine's Day

Dear Fashion Friend:

St. Valentine’s Day lauds romantic love! It also praises the wonders of platonic love. I knew this enchanting young lady who became one of my best friends (let’s call her Clio). I asked a friend of mine if he and his wife would like to go out for Sunday lunch at this magnificent restaurant not far from the University campus. I did not want to go on my own, so I asked Clio if she would like to come along. She did! The food was excellent; the wine stupendous! The four of us talked about so many delightful things that Sunday: books, movies, and travel. Over the years, my friend and I have had our share of movie nights and plenty of pizza! She’s a great conversationalist and always helps me to come to terms with life’s complexities. She has my best St. Valentine’s Day wishes!

How about our model? I can imagine her being spontaneous and witty. I can also envisage her being close to her family and friends! I can even perceive her spending part of her St. Valentine’s Day with someone she knew when she was growing up. Perhaps she meets up with her BFF at the Cottage Inn in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She slips into her friend’s coat pocket a card which reads: “Valentine’s day is a great day to let those you love know how special they are. I want to let you know that you are a special friend.”
