Dianne's Choices

Dear Fashion Friends:

I met Dianne on Twitter a couple of years ago. She is married and has three children who are now out in the real world, enjoying life’s plethora of blessings and delights.

She and I have exchanged fashion ideas throughout our Twitter friendship. I am always impressed by her sense of style. “I like clothing,” Dianne told me, “that makes me feel lovely.” Nothing is lovelier than this exquisite Summer Snow-White Pure Cotton Dress from the enchanting world of www.aleyacollection.com (see photos below). Its “hand-sewn lace” adds an absolute magnificence to the attire. I wrote for AC a blog post called “Dreams of Cocktails in Martha’s Vineyard,” which I play host to an AC fashion show at the Harbor View Hotel.  I can see Dianne wearing this delightful piece at the fashion event looking for “clothing that reflects my mood.” She hobnobs with the models and asks questions about AC’s alluring collection of dresses, tops, and beautiful accessories. “At this point in my life,” Dianne writes, “I like fashion that reflects my attitude and joys in life.” Well said, Dianne.

Dianne and her husband enjoy Naples, Florida, for their yearly vacation. I can see Dianne wearing this fantastic Spaghetti Strap Backless Dress from the AC website (see photo below). The dress, made from cotton and polyester, has a flowing stream of ruffles, adding a delight to the attire. In my discussion with Dianne, she links this enchanting piece of attire to her prior experiences of vacationing in Florida. “The lovely florals,” Dianne tells me, “remind me of dinner outside enjoying the sail air.”

Dianne’s final choice is this lovely Off the Shoulder Bandage Dress from the AC website (see photoss below). As described by AC, the attire features “an allover bandage design, a back exposed zipper, and a midi length.” In our discussion, Dianne tells me how AC’s “off the shoulder classic pieces make me feel as if I am ready for those warm breezes.”

I understand what she means. I wrote a blog post on an AC floral dress that reminded me of my many sojourns to Mackinac Island (see my blog post “Fashion and Happy Thoughts III”). In Harbor Springs. I love going to Stafford’s Pier Restaurant for their fabulous whitefish dinners and their Cherrie pie desserts. Afterward, I would take leisurely walk on the pier admiring the beautiful boats and relishing the evening summer feel of this northern Michigan town. “The light, airy pieces,” Dianne further told me, “that can be worn from late afternoon into evening entrance me.”
