Dear Fashion Friends:

I am a big fan of Autumn. I am looking forward to seeing the leaves change color, and to spending time enjoying the fresh, crisp air. Every September (and October and November), I enjoy going to the Franklin Cider Mill to purchase Apple Cider and Old Fashion Donuts. They are lovely for a Saturday afternoon, and I highly recommend them (see http://www.franklincidermill.com/). I also get a big kick out of buying a Pumpkin for Halloween and baking its seeds in the oven. Finally, I love this time of year because I get to put away the Summer clothes and bring out the coats and hats and sweaters.

I hope that you will take the time to visit www.aleyacollections.com. They have some great ideas about how to spruce up your wardrobe for the upcoming Autumn months! For this blog post, I will point out some of my favorites from AC fashion Fall collection!

If you are looking for something on the romantic side, I would recommend this O Neck Sleeve Split Trim Blouse (as listed on the AC website and as seen below). I love this piece of attire for it goes so well with blue jeans. For accessories, however, I would recommend a black leather jacket and a beige bolero hat to complete the outfit. This ensemble would be perfect for an early afternoon lunch at, for example, the Marine City Fish Company in Marine City, Michigan. If you and your significant other are ever in Marine City, I hope that you will give it a try. The fish is amazing. For desert, I suggest you order the Baked Bing Cherries and Puff Pastry A La Mode. see http://www.marinecityfishcompany.com/menu/) I think you will find it quite delicious.

This exquisite dress, as listed on the AC website as Knitted Embroidery Dress (see photo below), has a casual (yet stylish) look. I love the mesh lantern sleeves' beautiful floral pattern. The attire’s brown fabric reminds me of the beautiful Autumn colors one can find in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I would suggest this yellow cardigan to go with this outfit. (see photo below. It is listed on the AC website as Knee Length Open Front Side Slit Tunic Cardigan). I can imagine our model wearing this outfit when meeting her beloved for dinner at the Royal Oak Brewery in Royal Oak, Michigan (see https://www.royaloakbrewery.com/home). Perhaps it’s her birthday. When she comes back from the restroom, she finds a card on the table. Inside the card, there is a John Keats quote: “Beauty is truth. Truth is beauty. That is all you know on earth and all you need to know.”

I end this blog post with this enchanting sweater (see photo below. Catalogued on the AC website as Jacquard Knitted Sweater). I love its beautiful array of colors. The design pattern, moreover, is exquisite. But what I love is this. When I came across the sweater, I thought I entered the beautiful realm of a P.G. Wodehouse story. I can imagine our model working at the Angler’s Rest (a fantastic pub found in Wodehouse’s Mulliner stories). She feels sorry for "George Mulliner’s 'terrible stammer'" as he “suddenly awoke to the truth and realized that [Susan] was all the world to him – or, as he put it to himself from force of habit, precious, beloved, darling, much-loved, highly esteemed …” (from “Truth about George” in P.G. Wodehouse The World of Mr. Mulliner, p. 12. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wodehouse_Playhouse_episodes ).

I hope your visit to www.aleyacollections.com was an enchanting one.

Sincerely,

Gabe xoxo
